mild temperatures as well as little rain and humidity. Peak season though is between March and August when it reaches up to 90°F. If you don’t mind the humidity and possible rain, even summer is a fantastic time in Miami. Between
late February and mid April you can see a lot of Spring Breakers heading to Miami. Expect to join in some awesome parties or if you are after some more peace and quiet choose another time to travel to Miami!
Things to know about Miami
Miami is a vast city spread out over several very distinct areas. Miami itself, officially the City of Miami, lies mostly on the mainland of Florida and covers the districts of Wynwood and Little Haiti to the north and Coconut Grove to the south with the impressive Downtown Miami skyline at the heart of it.
Miami is often thought to include the world famous South Beach although technically South Beach is a neighborhood within the separate city of Miami Beach. Miami Beach lies on a one mile by nine mile island about three miles offshore from the city of Miami.
The wider Miami metropolitan area has a population of 6.1 million and stretches all the way north to include the cities of West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
Downtown Miami is where the world of finance is and where you should go to see all the skyscrapers. The
Adrienne Arsht Center is also located in Downtown and that’s where you can go to watch
all sorts of Performing Art. Bayside Marketplace is a hip place to be and in the port you will find lots of restaurants and bars. In the
American Airlines Arena you can watch the Miami Heat of the NBA in action.
Wherever you are in the Miami area you will enjoy some lively
Latin American flair combined with lots of sun and fun. In the hip
Wynwood Art District you won’t be able to stop browsing through all the genius
art galleries and you will be able to see some of the
world’s greatest graffiti art.
Little Havana is the place to experience some Cuban lifestyle in Miami. It’s where many Cubans settled after fleeing Fidel Castro’s regime in the 50s.
The area of Coral Gables is where you have to go if you want to see the
Venetian Pool. Just admire the beauty of the building or have a bath too - you might also spot some stars!
In the Miami area you will also find some of the
greatest malls and if you are after some exploring you should take a trip to the
Everglades to admire the nature or take a trip to
Key West.
And last but not least when in Miami you must certainly visit Miami Beach with its’ world famous South Beach. That’s where you will see all the beautiful beaches that Miami is famous for. South Beach, with its’
world heritage Art Deco District and Ocean Drive, is where everyone heads to to be seen and as a result you will find many visitors there.
North Beach is where the locals like to hang out more. South Beach is also called the
‘Hollywood of Latin America’. It’s such an incredible place with so much happiness, fun and of course parties. And if you are into partying don’t miss checking out the great
