If you do not want to share your Grand Canyon experience with tons of other people your best choice would go there in March, April or May or again in September, October or November. Temperatures then are not too hot, at night it can get quite chilly though.
The Grand Canyon is huge and therefore weather varies a lot according to where you in the park you are.
Be aware that the North Rim is closed for cars from October to May.
Enjoy the birdview perspective and take a ride on a helicopter across the canyon.
