March is the first month of the year where highs hit the 80s F in the Coachella Valley and it’s one of the best times to visit. Wherever in the valley you are heading, all the most popular places such Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert or Palm Springs will offer plenty of sunshine, 12 hours of daylight and hardly any rain! The desert climate though means it still gets pretty cold at night with lows of 54°F. So make sure to pack a sweater for evenings out!
Enjoy some time outside in the Shields Date Garden in Indio, or visit through the Old Town La Quinta. In Palm Desert it might be a good idea to check out the College of the Desert Street Fair on the University grounds on the weekends.
Best Time to Visit Coachella Valley
If you are looking for hot weather, a trip to the Coachella Valley is worth it at any time of the year. Summer time however, with highs of 107°F, might be even too hot for the most sun loving visitors!
You might find the winter months from November until March, or maybe April, the most pleasant with temperatures in the 70s and 80s F. Remember though that nights can be cool in the desert!
April, of course, is the best time to visit if you’re looking to see some of the superstar headliners at the Coachella Festival!
